The Honduran Association for the Promotion of Education (AHPE) initiated “Los Sauces Hotel School” in Tegucigalpa in the year 2000 and as of today has provided professional training to more than 3,000 women of limited resources coming from various communities throughout the country. With the success achieved in the school today, the results are insufficient when faced with the demand for qualified people to improve the level of services and the lives of individuals and their families. Also, Los Sauces has reached its limit in capacity to receive more students.
In response to this need and situation, AHPE has proposed to replicate their previous success by building a new Hotel School: MAIRIN. The project proposes the construction of a new school, with an area of 2,400 m². This includes areas for administration, computer labs, a library, dormitories, sports, and recreation facilities. The total cost of the project is approximately $1.3 million dollars.
